More Productivity Less Procrastination

How I put a Full Stop to my Procrastination and increased my Productivity

My Daily Life Journey

Before I go to sleep I plan my following day's schedule.

How I Plan my Day

Before moving on to know about my plan, Let me share my day overview. I spent 16 hours a day i.e from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm and slept for 8 hours. Sometimes I will take a nap in the afternoon, in that case, I will adjust 11 to 7 sleeping period😜.

Tools I Use to plan My Day

  • Google Calendar

  • Google Tasks

  • Notion

  • Daylio

  • Microsoft ToDo

Google Calendar

I will plan my day on the previous day itself. I created a repeated event and named it "Plan Tomorrow". Google calendar reminds me of 10.45 pm daily to plan tomorrow's day.

Google Tasks

I will add tasks based on google events and their priority and will mark them as completed once I complete them. I will try to complete most of them but If I failed to complete the task then google Tasks will keep it in red and overdue and I will make a priority task on the next day.

Notion

The notion is a well-known site probably no need for an introduction. I note my monthly and weekly goals here and will tell Notion to remind me every day so I won't forget about them. I will plan my days based on weekly and monthly goals and achieving monthly goals is my main goal. By achieving my weekly goals on time I can easily achieve my monthly goals. Achieving a goal is important here not the time it takes.

Daylio

Daylio is not at all for planning but it is for writing a journal about my day and checking whether I achieved my plans today or not. This is a mobile application. I will note my entries in daylio app daily before scheduling my next day at 10.45 pm.

Microsoft ToDo

I only use ToDo for my full-time job life, cause I will plan my job-related work in ToDo cause the google tasks site is blocked in my work lap and I will sync that on my mobile phone.

My Daily Routine to escape Procrastination

Starts at 10.45 pm and ends at 10.45 pm on the next day.

  1. Daily at 10.45 pm before I go to sleep I plan my day full with of events on google calendar.

  2. Then I will add tasks in google tasks, only for priority calendar events.

  3. I will write a journal on how I completed my day today and note how can I improve tomorrow, on the daylio app, and then I will move on to my bed for the sleeping task😅(only after scheduling the next day's plans).

Next Day

  1. The alarm rings at 6.55 am and I will wake up at 7.10 am after two snoozes😂.

  2. Then I will complete my daily morning routines and will touch my mobile only after 7.50 am.

  3. Then I will open daylio app and will take a photo of myself, till date from when I started using daylio app a pic of mine will present on daylio app. I will start my day only after taking my pic.

  4. Then I will move on to google calendar to start doing my priority learnings and tasks.

  5. I will take my breakfast and lunch whenever I feel hungry. No planning when it comes to food, just eating whatever I like and whenever I feel hungry.

  6. I will start my full-time job at 9.30 am and will log off at 6.30 or 7.00 pm

  7. In the evening time, I will go for a walk for around 20 to 30 minutes.

  8. After logging off from my job, I will watch Tv, mostly sports and funny videos on youtube, and spends some time with my family.

  9. Upon completion of my dinner, I will move to my personal lap and will try to complete my work according to my daily schedule or I will learn something new (Basically I will act based on my schedule) before 10.45 pm.

  10. Whenever I feel exhausted and bored I will open social media mostly Twitter and will go through my timeline.

  11. If I noticed any useful tech resources, I will plan a time to go through them, unlike everyone I won't save them as a bookmark. Mostly if I bookmark anything it will remain in the bookmark tab forever without taking any action(one of my procrastination habits 😅).

  12. The important thing other than all of this is I won't sit and think about what I should do now, if you do that then you are wasting a lot of your time. Instead, whenever you think of doing anything you just plan it to do, this won't waste your time and you can do that on planned time instead of postponing it.

  13. I use Notion for noting my ideas, learnings, and journals and also for noting whatever I thought.

That's all about my procrastination blog, sorry productivity blog.
